The Dog and His Shadow

A hungry dog found some food and held it in his mouth. He walked home across a small bridge over the water.

一只饥饿的小狗找到了一些食物，叼在嘴里。它走过一座小桥回家，桥下就是河水。

Looking down, he saw fish that could swim fast below. Then he saw another dog in the water — but it was only his own reflection! The dog thought the other dog also had food, and he wanted it too.

它往下一看，看见几条鱼在水里快速地游着。接着，它看见水里还有一只狗——可那只是它自己的倒影！小狗以为那只狗也有食物，也想要过来抢。

He opened his mouth to bark, but his real food fell into the water and was gone. The little fish swam away with it. The silly dog learned an important lesson that day: never be greedy.

它张开嘴巴想叫，结果嘴里真正的食物掉进了水里，不见了。小鱼叼着食物游走了。这只傻傻的小狗那天学到了一个重要的教训：千万不要贪心。
