The Sun and the Moon

Long ago, the Sun and the Moon were brother and sister. Every morning, the Sun woke up and ran across the sky. He gave warm light to trees, flowers, and birds below. At night, the Moon came out instead. She was soft and quiet, and she watched over sleeping cats, dogs, and families.

很久很久以前，太阳和月亮是一对兄妹。每天早晨，太阳醒来，跑过天空，把温暖的光洒向下面的树木、花朵和小鸟。到了晚上，换月亮出来。她温柔又安静，静静地守护着熟睡的猫咪、小狗和一家家人。

One day, the Sun asked, "Why do you like the night?" The Moon smiled and said, "Because everyone can rest and dream happy dreams."

有一天，太阳问："你为什么喜欢夜晚呀？"月亮笑着说："因为这样大家才能好好休息，做一个开心的梦呀。"

The Sun laughed and agreed. From that day, the Sun and the Moon worked together — one for play, one for sleep — and the whole family of Earth was happy.

太阳笑着点点头，表示同意。从那天起，太阳和月亮就一起合作——一个负责玩耍的白天，一个负责睡觉的夜晚，地球这个大家庭从此变得幸福快乐。
