The Ugly Duckling

Near a river, a mother duck had many baby ducklings. But one duckling looked different — bigger, and gray instead of yellow. The other ducks laughed at him. "You are not our brother!" they said.

在一条小河边，鸭妈妈生了好多小鸭宝宝。可是有一只小鸭子长得不一样——个头更大，灰灰的，不像别的小鸭子那样是黄色的。其他小鸭子都笑话他："你才不是我们的兄弟呢！"

The little duckling felt sad. He walked away, past the forest, past the mountain, all alone. Rain fell, and the wind blew cold. He was tired and hungry.

小鸭子心里很难过，他独自一人走开了，走过森林，翻过高山。天下起了雨，冷风呼呼地吹，他又累又饿。

One spring day, he saw beautiful white birds swimming on the sea. He swam close, afraid they would laugh too. But when he looked at the water, he saw his reflection — he was not a gray duckling anymore. He was a beautiful white swan!

春天的一个日子，他看见一群美丽的白色鸟儿正在海面上游泳。他游过去，心里害怕它们也会嘲笑自己。可是当他低头看向水面，却看见了自己的倒影——他已经不再是那只灰色的小鸭子了，而是一只美丽的白天鹅！

His new friends welcomed him with open wings. At last, the duckling had a family, and he was happy.

新朋友们张开翅膀欢迎他的到来。终于，这只小鸭子有了自己的家人，他非常开心。
